Anybody ever tried playing a JOURNALIST in an RPG? Could be quite interesting ... Although perhaps somewhat dangerous for everyone else involved.
"Sir, may I ask you a question?" Reporter approaching hero and dragon.
"Well, if you mind, not exactly now. I'm busy fighting you see?" The hero handles a two handed bastard sword in one hand, an axe in the other. He's running in sweat, and blood is all over the place. "Stinkin' reporters all the time ... how can one do his job this way?"
"Well, I think our readers have the right to know ... Tell me ..." ducking, dragonbreath passing by, barely missing, "How does it feel to be in a mortal combat like this one? Do you see it as a challenge? Is it turning out to be what you expected? How did you become a hero anyway, and what did your parents think about it when they heard for the first time you were gay?"
"What, you noosy ..." The hero turns his back to the dragon, and coldly stares at the reporter. "If you don't shut up now ..."
The dragon doesn't wait. It does what it is supposed to do. It attacks and kills the hero at once, the two halves are twitching a bit, then lay still.
Then the dragon looks cautiously at the reporter, only to stop its breath attack when it sees the man's press card.
A sigh from the reporter. "Ah ... that's a pity, we had just such an interesting conversation ..." Reporter looking around. An evil wizard is coming up, and the reporter as well as the dragon watch the black robe approaching. Then the reporter turns to the dragon, as the first fireball starts to fly.
Whooooooosh! Psssshhh ...
"Sir dragon, may I ask you a question ..."
The pen is mightier than the sword ... probably a pen +25? And notice the notepad universal saving throw modifier, plus the constitution bonus for wearing a news-badge
